GNAR
I got the the Zero demo pretty late, so there's only a few photos...
The whole team was skating in costumes. Tommy Sandoval did this blunt in a chicken suit.
I'm not sure what Chris Cole was supposed to be.
Brett Atchley was destroying.
A ton of people showed up to see the shredding. The team signed autographs and gave away t-shirts at 7 ply after. Props to Ted for getting these guys to come to R.I.!

Better late than never.
This is dirty. Watch this.
And it went with the music really well. This is like Element's version of "Dylan."

The California native displays graphic images of disfigured creatures in watercolor and vignettes arranged in comic strip format. With support from skateboard brands Supreme and Vans, Neck Face creates dark works in two to three dimensional formats that are as surreal as they are real. Vans Downtown Showdown
The 6th annual Vans Downtown Showdown was crazy. This year, Foundation, Zero, Black Label and the Pretzel grip aka Beauty & The Beast teams each built a gnarly obstacle at the Paramount studios back lot that is a replica of a New York City block. 8 of the top teams in skateboarding battle it out against each other on each obstacle. At the end of the evening, Girl and Anti-Hero (Pretzel Grip) came out on top and claimed $30,000. Vincent Alvarez completely destroyed all the obstacles he skated and was named top pro and pocketed $7,500. Foundation’s Nick Merlino claimed the top am spot and $7,500 as well.
The first obstacle is from Pretzel Grip. The idea behind it is speed. It is a time trial with everyone racing to have the fastest time flying through the course figure 8 style.
The second and third obstacles in the 2010 Vans Downtown Showdown were the Black Label and Zero Sections. Black Label’s Off The Wagon consisted of a gap with a ledge to a handrail down a double set, and the Zero Blood Bath set up was a huge volcano style ramp with a gnarly ramp to ramp jump, curved rail and a curved quarter pipe. Checkout some of the mayhem that went down on the two obstacles.

Core Cup Tomorrow!
For the 3rd year in a row, The Scion Core Cup On-Call Surf Contest
presented by Island Surf and Sports is a go!
Newport, Rhode Island, On September 15th the waiting period for the Scion Core Cup 2010 oncall surf contest will begin. The event is set to take place at Second Beach in Middletown, R.I. a surf spot that many call the epicenter of New England surf. In order to provide the best waves in the sometimes fickle New England waters, organizers have selected an on call format that will run from September 15th to November 15th. During that time, event organizers will select the weekend day with the best waves in order to give surfers the best opportunity to showcase their talent and battle for the coveted Core Cup and the monstrous purse. This year 36 of New England’s best surfers will do battle in what many say is the best and most progressive surf contest in the region.
In an effort to make a deeper connection within the surf culture, Scion, Toyota’s brand for the youth market, stepped up with sponsorship dollars worthy of a contest of this caliber. Symon Cousens, owner of Island Surf and Sport and the host shop of the contest said, “It’s taken three years, but the Core Cup seems to be the most progressive event in the region and we’re happy to be a part of it.”
Those interested in the event can get more information on Facebook – key word search Core Cup Surf.
The event will be hosted by Island Surf and Sport, Newport’s premier surf shop, and managed by Link Marketing, a Maine-based youth and action sports marketing, consulting and event management firm.
Sponsors Include: Scion, Island Surf and Sports, Oakley, Rip Curl, Ocean Minded, Creatures of Leisure and Narragansett Beer, Caterpillar, Vec Surfboards, Venom Energy Drink, Snapple.

the trap
We took a limo up to Boston to see Temper Trap at the House of Blues.
The usual suspects.
Good times.
The usual suspects.
Kyle, the driver, was the man. Door to door service.
The Bleacher Bar is right in center field at Fenway, and across the street from the House of Blues. The perfect stop for a few beers before a show.
Temper Trap killed it. You'll be hearing more about them soon.
After the show the girls were selling sausages from the cart, not sure how we didn't get photos.
I think this is Pete's reaction to the "spidermanning" talk.
The ride back was a mess.
